Opening General Session: Leaders Aren’t Just Born at the Top
Drew Dudley, Leadership Expert and Founder of Day One Leadership
Wednesday, April 10th, Palm Springs Convention Center
Leadership isn’t just for top bosses. Everyone, at every level of an organization, is a leader—and they likely don’t even recognize it. But, getting people to see their own potential is Drew Dudley’s specialty. By paying attention to the influence you have on the lives of those you work with, you can leverage moments of profound leadership and support: you may not even realize you’re having an effect on others, but you are. Based on an anecdote from his past, he calls these encounters “lollipop moments” the moments that might mean little to you, but are life-changing to your fellow colleagues.
Drew Dudley, the Founder and Chief Catalyst of Day One Leadership, has spent the last 15 years helping individuals and organizations increase their leadership capacity. In his book “This Is Day One,” he simplifies leadership without denying its complexity. Prior to founding Day One, Drew spent 8 years as the Director of one of Canada’s largest leadership development programs at the University of Toronto and served as National Chair of Canada’s largest post-secondary charity, which mobilized 35,000 volunteers annually to support the work of Cystic Fibrosis Canada. He has spoken to over 250,000 people on 5 continents, been featured on The Huffington Post, Radio America, Forbes.com, and TED.com, where his “TED talk” has been voted “one of the 15 most inspirational TED talks of all time.”
