CWEA is hiring!

We’re looking for somebody who can help us manage key aspects of our professional certification program. With the help of our psychometric consultants, you’ll lead our team of subject matter experts through the collaborative development of new certification exams (with online collaborative tools and face-to-face meetings in northern and southern California). We’ll look to you for implementable ideas and plans on how we can better collaborate remotely and in person. You will also develop ways to improve how we monitor the performance of our computer-based tests and leverage the data we have to increase our understanding and help certificate candidates be more successful. Oversight of the ongoing operations of our certification program including candidate applications, exams, recertification, and CRM management will be an important part of your job here too.  Of course, there is a lot more detail to it than that, but these are the key areas of responsibility.

For this position we need you to bring strong project management skills, an ability to manage and analyze data, and attention to detail. Working well with CWEA’s professional staff and volunteers will be critical to your success. In addition, a good foundation in basic statistics, strong written and verbal communication skills, experience updating web pages, and a solid competency and comfort with Access (queries & reports), Excel, and Word is a must. You’ll need to have completed your bachelor’s degree in a field that would serve as a solid foundation for this position (e.g. social science, language, science, or math works for us). You should also have at least 7 years of full time professional experience working in a collaborative team environment. Overnight travel is required about once a month (sometimes less, sometimes more).

We’re a 501(c)(3) nonprofit association with a small professional staff of about 15 here at our Oakland office. However, we work with about 300 highly motivated volunteers throughout the state, who keep us energized. As an organization that has a professional development focus for our members, we also value the professional development of our staff. There are always opportunities for our staff to learn and we expect our team members to contribute to improving our processes, programs and products.

Annual salary is competitive, 20 days paid leave per year, medical benefits, and an employer contribution to a SEP IRA are part of the compensation package. We’re near BART with a shuttle that runs to our building.
