Introducing a new resource for California water careers

Careers-banner-1We’re proud to introduce our newest initiative – a water careers website called
We are in a period of rapid change for our profession. CWEA’s Board of Directors continues to invest in programs and services to help you succeed in your career as well as provide California with an ample and competent water workforce.
CWEA’s job board was over 17 years old. For the new website we have two goals:
  1. Make it easier to find jobs (it’s easier to search, mobile compatible & users can sign-up for e-mail job alerts)
  2. Reach out to the general public and encourage Californians to consider a water career
A few years ago AWWA and WEF estimated 30% of water professionals will retire by 2018. We need thousands of talented new people to join us. Now is the time to reach out and encourage people to become water professionals.
Here are ways you and your agency/firm can support the work for water message:
  1. Join the CA Water Jobs partnership
  2. Post a job on the site
  3. Share the site with friends, family and young people
  4. Encourage talented Californians to join us. How? Share your ideas for recruiting slogans or campaigns. Should our slogan be Work for water? Become a water hero? Show your passion for pure water? Send your ideas to our Director of Communications, Alec Mackie.
Learn more about the CA Water Jobs project during a webinar on August 15th. Sign-up here.
We have such a great story to tell. This is a wonderful career, full of great people, new challenges, a stable job with good benefits and a rewarding purpose. There are talented Californians out there who will love this profession – just like we do!
Join CWEA, CA-NV AWWA, CASA and others in supporting the CA Water Jobs project. Working together we can ensure a strong future for our profession.

Thank you career site sponsors:
