Making the world a better place

Ever notice the Google Doodle on Google’s home search page? You know, the fun, spontaneous changes that are made to the Google logo to celebrate holidays, anniversaries, and the lives of famous artists, pioneers, and scientists?  This year, Google held the 7th annual Doodle 4 Google competition for kids in grades K-12, asking them to submit an illustration for the home page of an invention that would make the world a better place. Out of 100,000 submissions, an 11 year-old from New York won for her illustration of a transformative water purifier.

Check out her delightfully enchanting animation here along with the other submissions.

“To make the world a better place, I invented a transformative water purifier. It takes in dirty and polluted water from rivers, lakes, and even oceans, then massively transforms the water into clean, safe and sanitary water, when humans and animals drink this water, they will live a healthier life.” - Audrey Zhang, 11
