This workshop will provide an overview of regulatory approaches, treatment technologies, and nutrient removal product recovery and discuss potential paths to net-zero nutrient discharges. Visit the largest BNR facility in Northern California and observe an intricate 8–10 hour treatment process that cleans wastewater from 1.4 million residents in the Silicon Valley. More than 75% of nitrogen and 90% of phosphorus is removed using no significant chemical addition—a miraculous process that simulates the way nature cleans water.
