The WEF/NACWA/WERF National Water Policy Forum & Fly-In is less than five weeks away, and your participation is critical to helping to make the event a success. This year’s Forum & Fly-In provides a unique opportunity for WEF and our water sector partners to speak with a united voice about the value of water and the need to invest in innovation and infrastructure. At this time, I respectfully request that you do the following three things:
1) Participate in the WEF Water Advocates webcast, “How to Have a Successful Congressional Meeting,” on March 6 at 2 pm EST to learn more about the Forum & Fly-In and help you prepare for your visits. Please circulate the webcast registration link to your colleague in your state/region.
2) Register to attend the Forum & Fly-in on April 7–9, 2014. The Forum & Fly-in is the anchor event for Water Week 2014, which will include meetings with congressional and federal agency leaders, a Water Infrastructure & Innovation Expo in Congress, the U.S. Water Alliance’s prize ceremony and reception at the National Geographic Society, and many other events and activities. Your participation is critical to increase awareness and support by Congress and federal regulators for the considerable value the water sector brings to environmental protection, economic development, and job creation. Circulate this e-postcard to your colleagues.
3) Join WEF’s Water Advocates program. This grassroots community will be a way for you to stay in touch with important legislative and regulatory matters and to be a voice on policies that are important to you. To join the program, sign into your WEFCOM account and join the “Government Affairs – Water Advocates” community under the Communities tab. Please encourage your MA members and colleagues to also join the Water Advocates program. Like all grassroots programs, the more people involved, the stronger the voice.
