Statement on the passing of Mike Gouin

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of VVWRA Senior Operator Mike Gouin, who passed away Tuesday in a motorcycle accident. Mike was a hardworking and loyal employee who joined VVWRA in November of 2013. He previously worked for the Helendale Community Services District for 5 years. Mike was a veteran of the US Navy and Navy reserves. He had a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and was certified as a Grade 5 wastewater operator. But Mike was more than a co-worker to those who knew him. He was a friend. His positive attitude and infectious smile made VVWRA a better place to be. He will be deeply missed. Rest in Peace Mike.

VVWRA posted on their Facebook page that a GoFundMe page has been set-up in Mike’s honor.
