CWEA-WEF member Tama Snow has joined Stantec—a global engineering, architecture, and consulting firm—as a senior principal and water area manager in the firm’s San Diego, California, office. Snow will apply her nearly three decades of experience in water resources planning and infrastructure to the firm’s Southern California-based water practice.
Snow is a professional engineer specializing in the planning, design, and construction of water-related facilities—water delivery, recycled water, and wastewater, with a focus on planning and conveyance projects. She has extensive experience managing water projects throughout Southern California, most recently within the San Diego and Irvine communities.
“We’re thrilled to have Tama join our growing Water team in San Diego,” says Kari Shively, Stantec vice president, Water. “Through her varied experience, Tama offers unique insights and a history working with important clients throughout the region on a variety of projects. She is a leader who can assist our growing multifaceted water practice.”
Some of her recent projects include: serving as principal in charge and project manager for various Otay Water District projects, including replacing five potable water pipelines; facility planning and design for repurposing a water reclamation plant as an emergency wastewater storage facility for the City of Vista; serving as project manager for two water treatment plants for the City of Lemoore delivered via progressive design/build; providing project management during the development of a recycled water program feasibility study for the Coachella Water Authority, Mission Springs Water District, Indio Water Authority, and Valley Sanitation District; and leading a feasibility study to develop the Simi Valley Basin—which has naturally poor groundwater—as a potable water resource.
Snow is an active member of the American Water Works Association, California Water Environment Association, and WateReuse. She is a graduate of the University of California Irvine, with a master’s degree in engineering from Cal-Poly Pomona.
